Who is Jeremiah Hurley Jr.?

On October 28, 1991, Officer Jeremiah Hurley Jr. and his partner, both members of the Boston Police Department Bomb Squad, responded to a call of a suspicious package in a residential neighborhood in Roslindale. During the investigation the package exploded seriously injuring both men. Several hours later in the emergency room, Officer Hurley succumbed to his injuries. Jeremiah Hurley Jr. served the city of Boston for 23 years. He is survived by his wife, four children, ten grandchildren and two sisters. He will never be forgotten.

What is the purpose of the Jeremiah J. Hurley Jr. Wiffle Ball Tournment?

The 2nd Annual Jeremiah Hurley Jr. Wiffle Ball Tournament is a three day weekend tournament hosted by Community Christian School (CCS) in Westfield, MA to honor fallen law enforcement officers and their families. The event will commence with opening ceremonies at 6:30 PM on Friday June 24th and end with closing ceremonies after the championship game Sunday afternoon. Half the proceeds will be donated to Community Christian School and the other half of the proceeds will be donated to the New England Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) scholarship fund for children who have lost parents in the line of duty. CCS and C.O.P.S. are 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations.

Rosters for the tournament will consist of nine (9) to fifteen (15) players. The suggested donation per team to participate in the event is $500(approximately $35 - $50 per player). A maximum of twelve teams will be accepted for the tournament on a first come first serve basis. Do not miss this unique one of a kind event!!!
